Global Sticks Closure Means Huge Job Loss

It is still unclear why the Global Sticks plant closed its doors – and whether it is short or long term – but one thing is certain, there are lots of jobs at stake. Northern Training Partnership Fund = More Jobs

Ontario is investing $45 million over three years to prepare Northern Ontarians for new jobs in emerging resource sectors. $13 million per year ($39 million) is being allocated to MTCU in collaboration with Ministry of Aboriginal Affairs for skills training needs; $2 million per year ($6 million) is being allocated to the Ministry of Natural Resources to address skills training needs related to Far North Land Use Planning.

The Northern Training and Partnership Fund helps people get on-the-job training or training for a future job in new development opportunities, like the Ring of Fire and green and innovative technology.
